Equestrian Services in Kent

Known as the Garden of England, Kent combines rolling downland, orchards and woodland, with plenty of riding schools and livery yards spread across the county, from the edge of London out to the coast.

Where to ride in Kent
The Kent Downs, part of the North Downs, give riders chalk tracks and big views across the Weald, and the county's woodland, including forests around the High Weald, offers shady rides in summer. Many bridleways link up with quiet country lanes around Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Ashford and Canterbury. Some woodland and estate rides need a permit, so ask a local yard before you set out.

Riding schools, livery and lessons in Kent
Our Kent directory lists riding schools, livery yards, trainers and stables in towns such as Canterbury, Ashford, Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne and Tonbridge. Most riding schools offer group and private lessons for beginners and experienced riders, and many run pony days and holiday clubs for children. Prices vary between centres, so it is worth contacting a few to compare. Look for British Horse Society (BHS) or Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) approval as a sign of good standards.
